Basic Pistol - Mississippi Enhanced Permit (MEP) Women Only - This one-day BFTA™ proprietary course curriculum is limited to eight ladies and led by a female instructor. Upon successful completion of the course, you will qualify for the Enhanced Endorsement to the Mississippi Firearms Permit.

Concealed Carry I - This one day course introduces students to the fundamentals of carrying a handgun for personal protection.  You will get information to make everyday concealed carry comfortable and convenient for any type of environment and attire.  The course includes instruction on how to safely carry and draw your personal protection handgun from your preferred carry mode and introduce additional carry modes and holsters for  inside and outside the waistband, pocket, purse, appendix, ankle, crossdraw carry and the advantages and disadvantages of each.  Please note: This course does not qualify for the MS Enhanced Permit endorsement.

Cost: $200.00

What to bring:

  • Concealed Carry pistol or revolver
  • Any holsters you currently use for your firearm (Must be able to re-holster one handed)
  • 150 Rounds of ammunition 
  • At least 2 magazines or speed loaders for your firearm
  • Eye protection, ear protection (electronic preferred), ​ball cap/sun visor
  • ​Sunscreen, bug spray

What to wear:

  • High neck shirts/t-shirt, closed toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets

Intro 2 Defensive Pistol - This is a one-day class is designed to expose students to the fundamentals of defensive handgun shooting--"learning how to fight with a handgun." The goal is to help students become proficient with their firearm and focuses on drawing your pistol from a strong side hip holster, loading techniques, clearing malfunctions, and low light simulation. 

Prerequisite: Mississippi Enhanced Carry Permit or Equivalent Carry Permit

Cost: $200.00

What to bring:

  • Semi-automatic pistol – 9mm or larger; .38 Special or larger caliber revolver *
  • Gun belt AND outside the waistband polymer or Kydex holster 
  • 200 Rounds of ammunition 
  • 3 magazines (7+ round capacity), or  3 revolver speed loaders (Must be able to come to the firing line with at least 20 Rounds of ammunition) 
  • ​At least 1 double magazine holder or speed loader pouch
  • Eye protection, ear protection (electronic preferred), ​ball cap/sun visor
  • Sunscreen, bug spray

​What to wear:

  • High neck shirt/t-shirt, closed toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets

Basic Pistol - Mississippi Enhanced Permit (MEP) - This is a one-day BFTA™ proprietary course curriculum designed to teach students how to safely use a handgun. It also covers different types of pistols and revolvers, how they operate, pros and cons of each type, and the proper ammunition for each. This course covers the importance of being aware of your surroundings ("situational awareness"), introduces defensive firearms concepts, and covers the legal and ethical aspects of carrying and using a firearm in defense of your self and/or others. The completion of this course qualifies students for the Enhanced Endorsement to the Mississippi Firearms Permit.

Prerequisite: None

Cost: $175.00

Advanced Handgun Classes

​​Defensive Pistol II (DP2) - This is a three-day comprehensive, advanced course designed to take your knowledge and skills of defensive firearm shooting to the next level. You will be shooting on the move, learning to use cover, shooting at night, Shoot House course work, and scenario reenactments using force-on-force training with non-lethal munitions.

Prerequisite: Concealed Carry Permit and Defensive Pistol - Level I
Cost: $600.00

What to bring:

  • Semi-automatic pistol – 9mm or larger; .38 Special or larger caliber revolver *
  • Gun belt AND outside the waistband polymer or Kydex holster 
  • 900 Rounds of ammunition 
  • 6 high-capacity magazines (10+ round capacity), or 10 (7+ round capacity) magazines, or 10 revolver speed loaders (Must be able to come to the line with at least 60 rounds of ammunition)
  • ​At least 1 double magazine holder or speed loader pouch
  • Eye protection, ear protection (electronic preferred), ​ball cap/sun visor
  • ​Sunscreen, bug spray

What to wear:

  • High neck shirts / t-shirt, close toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets
  • Knee / elbow pads(optional)

Defensive Pistol I (DP1) - This is a comprehensive two-day class designed to teach the fundamentals of defensive shooting with a handgun --"learning how to fight with a handgun."  In this course you will be drawing from a holster, using multiple loading techniques, advanced malfunction drills, low light simulation, and intermediate shooting techniques using our turning target system.  

​Prerequisite: Mississippi Enhanced Carry Permit or Equivalent Carry Permit
Cost: $400.00

What to bring:

  • Semi-automatic pistol – 9mm or larger; .38 Special or larger caliber revolver *
  • Gun belt AND outside the waistband polymer or Kydex holster 
  • 500 Rounds of ammunition 
  • 4 high-capacity magazines (12+ capacity), or 7 (7+ capacity) magazines, or 8 revolver speed loaders (Must be able to come to the line with at least 45 rounds of ammunition)
  • ​At least 1 double magazine holder or speed loader pouch
  • Eye protection, ear protection (electronic preferred), ​ball cap/sun visor
  • ​Sunscreen, bug spray

What to wear:

  • High neck shirts/t-shirt, closed toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets
