Defensive Shotgun I - This is a comprehensive one day class designed to expose the student to the fundamentals of defensive shooting with a shotgun. Knowing the mechanics of your shotgun, how to manipulate your sling, and load your ammunition would be helpful, but not necessary. 

Prerequisite: None

Cost: $200.00

What you need to bring:

  • Shotgun: Pump action or semiautomatic 12 or 20 gauge*
  • Sling
  • 200 rounds of birdshot, 25 rounds of buckshot and 20 slugs
  • Eye protection, ear protection(electronic preferred), ​ball cap / sun visor

What to wear:

  • High neck shirt / t-shirt, closed toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets

* Gun rental and/or ammo packages will be available in the Pro Shop 

**Note This class does not meet the BFTA™ Alumni requirements

Intro 2 Defensive Shotgun- This half day course introduces the student to utilizing a shotgun as a defensive tool.  The class includes the fundamentals of defensive shotgun shooting, ammunition choices,defensive loading techniques, and the pros and cons of utilizing a shotgun for home defense.

Prerequisite: None

Cost: $150.00

What you need to bring:

  • Shotgun: Pump action or semiautomatic 12 or 20 gauge*
  • 100 rounds of birdshot
  • Eye protection, ear protection(electronic preferred), ​ball cap / sun visor

What to wear:

  • High neck shirt / t-shirt, closed toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets

***At the end of Intro 2 Defensive Shotgun, students have the option to complete the Defensive Shotgun I afternoon live fire exercises.

Intermediate Shotgun Classes

Advanced Shotgun Classes

Defensive Shotgun II - This is a comprehensive two day class designed to teach the student the fundamentals of defensive shooting using a shotgun and a pistol. You will be expected to know the mechanics of your shotgun and pistol, how to manipulate your sling and load your ammunition. In this course you will learn how to transition from a shotgun to a pistol

Prerequisite: Defensive Pistol I & Defensive Shotgun I or skill level equivalent (upon approval).

Cost: $400.00

What you need to bring:

  • Shotgun: Pump action or semiautomatic 12 or 20 gauge*
  • Sling
  • 500 rounds of birdshot, 50 rounds of buckshot, and 20 slugs
  • Pistol, strong side holster, 3 magazines, magazine holder
  • ​​100 rounds- pistol ammunition
  • Eye protection, ear protection(electronic preferred), ​ball cap / sun visor

What to wear:

  • High neck shirt / t-shirt, closed toe shoes, pants or shorts with belt loops and loose pockets
  • Knee / elbow pads(optional)
